Triathlon is the fastest growing sport in the UK and is the ultimate test of endurance across three separate disciplines. It involves swimming, cycling and running in immediate succession, usually over one of the following distances:

Sprint                             750m          20km           5km

Standard (Olympic)     1.5km         40km           10km

Middle (70.3)               1.9km          90km           21.2km

Long (Ironman)           3.8km         180.2km       42.2km

British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS)

The club competes in the three BUCS races each year; a duathlon (run, bike, run) in November, a sprint triathlon in early May and an Olympic distance in late May. All members of the club can enter the races and transport is arranged so we travel as a team. We have a maximum of 15 free entries specifically for people aiming for BUCS points.

Notts Triathlon

The award winning Notts Triathlon is a sprint triathlon that is run and organised by the club.

This sprint triathlon consists of a 400m swim at the University Park Swimming Pool, a hilly 5 lap (15km) closed-road cycle on traffic free roads around University Park followed by a 5km run throughout the Downs and around the Highfields Park Lake. This event is open to the general public with a particular emphasis towards university alumni, particularly those of the University of Nottingham (UoN) and Nottingham Trent University (NTU).
